My wife and I are 78 years old and enjoy movies. We can understand news anchors and commercials on TV with no problem. However, in the movies when they are whispering sweet nothings to each other or talking when facing away from the camera we cannot understand what they are saying no matter how loud we turn up the volume. With these headphones we can understand every word and still keep the volume down. It was a good investment for us.
One word of warning. While the ad says it is add-on headphone for RS-140 you should understand that it is not a RS-140. it is actually a HDR 140. This is just a second pair of earphones. To make it work you must first own the true RS-140 which includes the transmitter and charger.

After much researching, I selected the Sennheiser RS140 wireless headphones as a gift for my husband. He likes to turn up the volume on the TV whiles watching sports so it is really a gift to me because I have some quiet in the house! The headphones are amazing. Very easy to set up. He wears them all of the time and I love the quiet in the house. The range is great. He even wears them when taking out the trash. The sounds is incredible. He shows everyone the headphones when they visit. They are also great for people who are hard of hearing because the sound source is right at the ear instead across the room. 5 stars!!

I bought this headphone for a couple of months now. I like it very much. It produced excellent quality sound most of the time. However, it sometimes has static noises, especially when I move around the house. Also, the three volume adjustment wheels on the right earphone are not well designed. They are on the back of the earphone and higher than its base, very often when I laid down on a couch or a bed, the wheels accidentally changed position because of the contact with couch or pillow and altered the volume unexpectedly. I don’t have to wear my hearing aids with Sennhauser wireless. The sound is fabulous. I,have in the past, bought 4 other brands, and this one beats them all.

I bought this for my Mom for Christmas 2009.
Setup was simple, took only a few minutes.
It uses infrared I think for the transmission technology, anything that blocks the line of sight from the headset to the receiver/cradle makes the sound go fuzzy.
It clamped my melon sized head too tightly to be comfortable, but for her, she says it is very comfortable.
When you take it off, it turns itself off saving the battery. Also, setting it in the cradle is easy.
She loves it, and that’s the important thing.
My Dad has the more standard style over the head type of headset, and the ear covers made his head sweat so badly that he has ended up using rubber bands to secure two rags to it. That seems to last for him and it is cooler, he says the plastic ear covers were too hot. This unit should have neither of those problems.

I ordered this product because my husband watches tv in bed late at night. The headphones have been a lifesaver. I can finally sleep while he watches tv and he enjoys the quality of the sound. This is a good product and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to listen to quality sound without annoying others. It occassionally gets a little static if you turn away from the receiver, but not enough inconvenience to matter. Well worth the money!

While the sound quality of the system is quite good, the earpiece covers do not fit well. The headband is too tight, exerting too much pressure on the ears. They are also too heavy. All things considered, the system is rather painful to wear, too uncomfortable to wear for more than a few minutes.
