I was skeptical about the promise of the RoomGroove when I first read the specs. I knew that the sound would be good to great as they are Klipsch. But internetworking all of them together? Seamlessly? Sure.
I have now bought 3 RoomGrooves from Amazon - where I found the price to be the lowest. The units are amazing. The sound is top notch for an all-in-one unit. The best surprise was the interconnection of the devices. It was seamless. I can now play the same music throughout my home or play different music in each room. And have the volume set perfectly for each room. I have one attached to my PC so that it can access my iTunes library. It was a no-brainer to set up. It looks great. It sounds great. For $700 total, I was able to have wireless music throughout my property.
I did suggest to Klipsch that they develop a standalone device (without a speaker system) that could be hooked into a PC for iTunes access. One that would broadcast over Klipsch cast. |
Excellent multi-room music system

I bought this product with fairly low expectations, as every other wireless home networking device I've ever bought either hasn't worked or has failed to impress.
The Roomgroove is a great piece of kit. It takes less than a minute to figure out how to use it and the wireless networking is easy. Sound quality is awesome too.

| I had heard other types of iPod speaker systems, but when I wanted my own, I wanted to try the Klipsch. I was not dissapointed. While it cannot equal the Klipsch LaScala speakers in my home stereo system, the Klipsch RoomGroove sounds better than all the other iPod speakers I have heard. I would recommend listening to this product alongside other brands if available, and let your ears decide! |
Finally a wireless that performs

I'm downstairs listening to music playing on my iPod connected to a RoomGroove transmitting upstairs from in my bedroom. The sound is truly inspiring in both rooms. There are none of the typical issues that you have with wireless speakers and I've tried a few - returned all of them.
Another reviewer wrote that the remote does not work as expected. I have different results to report. I used the remote pointed at the downstairs RoomGroove to advance to the next song when then iPod is connected to the RoomGroove upstairs. This system could not have been designed to work better than that.
On the box Klipsch chose to display these words in large bold letters:
Power Detail Emotion
Yes, yes, and yes. The RoomGroove absolutely delivers what it promises.
FYI - I just ordered a third RoomGroove.
Update 12/15/08 - I just ordered a fourth RoomGrove. Using these for "surround sound" for my home theater. No wires. No hassle.
Update 4/17/09 - OK, I own 5 of these now: 2 upstairs, 2 downstairs, and 1 in the garage. One of them stopped transmitting. The other problem that I have is that transmitting a recording of the ocean, it will cut out quite often and that's very annoying. It does not seem to do this as often playing music as it does with the ocean recording. |

| These speakers are the BEST!!! They are very compact, easy to use, and they sound GREAT...even at high volumes! The wireless feature is the coolest part about them. I bought two, so that I can have my music wherever I want it....surround sound, in the backyard, in my bedroom, in the dining room...The speakers don't have to be near each other at all, and the sound is amazing! I would highly recommend these to anyone who wants a reasonably priced wireless sound system for your mp3 player. |
Great sound, easy setup

I'm not the most 'techie' person in the world. So, the fact that it took me longer to take the speakers and accessories out of the box than it did to set up and use? Big. Add to this the fact that the sound is absolutely amazing-full, wiithout being to 'bassy', and I'm in love.
I should have bought these speakers ages ago. |

| I do not like alot of equipment but I do like good quality sound and this item fit the bill. It is not only very good looking, the sound is fantastic. It fills the room with very high quality music and I can hear pitches and underlying sounds within songs that I've never heard before and in music I've listend to over and over. I've not bought another one yet to try the wireless features but I definitely will. I took a chance on this item and I am not disappointed. |

Robust 2.4GHz wireless technology lets you listen to music on your computer via other RoomGrooves in your house. View larger. | Designed as a clean and robust home speaker solution, you can create a wireless speaker system by using two or more RoomGrooves or KlipschCast systems--no wires or complicated setup are required. Each RoomGroove acts as a transmitter or receiver, meaning it can wirelessly send CD-quality music to other RoomGrooves or receive CD-quality music from transmitting RoomGrooves. The robust 2.4 GHz wireless technology found in the RoomGroove offers unlimited add-on opportunities. To ensure that your RoomGroove network doesn't disturb other wireless devices, RoomGrooves are designed to sniff out your entire 2.4 GHz band to detect other wireless technologies in use, such as wireless routers, and then transmit around the spectrum used by those sources. You can avoid interference from neighboring systems by using the home code dial on each wireless RoomGroove speaker to select a code specific to all of your units. As an added convenience, the RoomGroove gives you a choice of listening options based on what room you're in. For instance, if a home has three RoomGrooves and "Song A" is playing in the bedroom and "Song B" is playing in the office, then the RoomGroove in the kitchen can listen to either song or play what's on its own iPod. Under the hood, the RoomGroove speaker system packs in premium 2.5-inch woofers, crossovers, and 1-inch horn-loaded tweeters to deliver accurate, efficient, and compromise-free acoustics. A frequency response range of 65 Hz to 17 kHz ensures that the music comes out crisp and clear. The RoomGroove features a retractable dock that charges all iPods with dock connectors and comes with Apple universal well inserts to accommodate multiple iPod sizes. Other digital devices can connect easily via an auxiliary input. The RoomGroove not only brings out the best in your iPod, it also will work with your computer. All you have to do is connect the RoomGroove to your computer via its auxiliary input. Once it's connected, you can broadcast your computer's entire music library, including content from your favorite Internet radio station, to other RoomGrooves around your house. Measuring 15.75 x 7 x 4.5 inches, the RoomGroove weighs six pounds. A remote control is included with the RoomGroove for added convenience. The RoomGroove is backed by a 1-year limited warranty.
